TITLE: The Duality
There are always two sides to everything. The side we see, and the side we don't, or the side we don't want to. As an artist, as a woman, as a mother, I have many sides, often at odds with one another.
There is the side that wants to save the environment, and the side that likes using new materials instead of recycled ones. There is the woman who enjoys the stylistic process of pen and ink laden with heavy details and the one who wants to express her art in an array of glorious splashes of emotion, uncontrolled.
There is the side who wants to create for the sheer joy of it, and the side that creates for the money. There is the side that shows her sexuality, and the side that creates carefully neutral images. One side always wins out, at one time or another, but both are there screamin gout their truths and waiting to be expressed. This is the duality. This is the struggle and the triumph.
